Boys this age like to feel needed, and they like to know that their work is appreciated and is making a real difference. Some ideas: learn to use the lawnmower, spread mulch, weed flower beds, organize a closet, have their own table at a garage sale, plan a meal and cook . As your child with autism becomes an adult, he will face challenges, of course. But young adults with autism also have more and more opportunities. The key is to start planning for the transition Author: Gina Shaw.

Need craft or project ideas for older boys? My 11 year old (almost 12) helped me choose this collection of projects, so these are things that are “boy approved.” When we say this, of course, we’re not meaning that girls wouldn’t like these ideas or shouldn’t do them! It’s simply a collection of things that boys might go for.   By the time boys get to year six, as you will find in most primary schools in the land, there is a small group of boys, the peer police cadets, who are dragging boys off cliffs. If we don’t act sooner by the time these boys reach year 10 they can be virtually running the place, telling, as they do, other boys whether its ok to work, to write.

Teen girls have different brains: Gender, neuroscience and the truth about adolescence It’s indisputably true that in adolescence there are real differences in some brain functions with males Author: Dr. Frances E. Jensen. example, use photos of girls climbing or doing carpentry and of boys playing with dolls or helping with cleaning chores. - Create simple dolls for the block area by wrapping non-stereotypical photographs of male and female workers around cardboard tubes that will encourage both boys and girls to play and explore diverse roles.
